Brief biographical information:
In 1972 he graduated from Ivan Franko National University of Lviv with a degree in mathematics. He received the qualification of a mathematician and computer operator.
In 1972–1975 he studied at the graduate school of the Glushkov Institute of Cybernatics of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
In 1979 he also defended his dissertation "Dialogue tools to justify the correctness of programs" in the specialty "Mathematical software for computers and systems".
In 1972–1982 he worked at the institutes of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Since 1982 he has been working at Lviv University of Trade and Economics. The academic title of associate professor of the department of technical means of economic information processing was awarded in December 2011.
From September 2018 to the present - Associate Professor of Computer Science.

Kostyrko V.S. carries out his scientific activities in accordance with the research plan of the University and the Department of Computer Science, actively participates in international and national scientific and practical conferences and seminars. He is the author and co-author of 77 scientific papers, 10 manuals and 1 textbook.

2.    In 2023, he completed an internship at the Department of Information Systems and Networks, Lviv Polytechnic National University.
3.    In 2023, he took two training courses for university teachers conducted by the EU organization EIT HEI Initiative.
