History

The Department of Entrepreneurship, Trade and Logistics outputs its beginning from the Department of Organizations and Technology of Soviet Trade at the Lviv Trade and Economic Institute, based in 1947 with uniting the Department of Organizations and Technology of Soviet Trade of the Lviv Institute of Soviet Trade and the Department of Organization and Cooperative Trade Technology of the Ukrainian Institute of Soviet Cooperative Trade. Later, due to the needs of modernity, the Department was renamed to the Department of Organization of Trade in 1989, to the Department of Commercial Activity and Entrepreneurship in 1993, and in 2017 - to the Department of Entrepreneurship, Trade and Logistics.

Currently, the Department of Entrepreneurship, Trade and Logistics (hereinafter - the Department of PTL) operates as part of the Faculty of Commodity Science, Management and Service of LTEU.

In all the stages of its activity the Department of PTL, according to the requirements of the national economy, provided a deep training of future specialists, development of research activities, preparation and publication of scientific, educational and methodical literature. The Department provides the educational process within the study of trade and takes an active part in the preparation of applicants for higher education for full-time and part-time forms of education at all faculties of LTEU, providing with teaching staff of about 30 subjects.

Currently, the Department is graduating and prepares applicants for higher education with educational and professional programs "Business, trade and exchange activities", "Commodity and commercial enterprise", "Commodity and expertise in customs" of the specialty 076 "Business, trade, exchange activity" for a bachelor's degree, with EPP "Commodity and Commercial Activity" and "Commodity and Customs Expertise" of the same specialty for a master's degree, as well as for Doctor of Philosophy.
