The areas of specialists scientific and applied research in the sphere of international economic relations, foreign policy elaboration, analysis, forecasting and regulation of economic cooperation are very diverse. There are a few of them:

Scientific schools

Scientific school «The Balance of Payments problems in the dependent Economy model» operates successfully. ( headman – Professor V. Shevchuk).

Scientific work of students

Scientific activity of students in speciality "International Economic Relations" is developing in the following areas: preparation of scientific student work, participation in conferences of various levels, in competitions, Olympiads, meetings of scientific circles.

On April 15, 2021 on the basis of Kyiv National University of Trade and Economics the final video conference of the second round of the All-Ukrainian competition of student research papers in the specialty was held with the participation of 15 participants from 14 higher educational institutions of Ukraine. According to the results of the competition, the scientific work of the student of speciality "International Economic Relations" Shevchuk Sofia "Advantages and risks of the policy of extremely low interest rates in European countries" was awarded a Diploma of III degree. Scientific adviser - PhD in Economics, Associate Professor Serhiy Semiv.

The scientific achievements of students should also include the third prize of the student Lyubov Nagrebna (1st year master's degree) in the second round of the All-Ukrainian competition of student research papers in the specialty, which took place at KNU. T. Shevchenko (Kyiv, April 17, 2019). The work of student was performed on the topic: "Efficiency of participation of domestic enterprises in projects of international production cooperation (on the example of the automotive industry)" under the guidance of Ph.D., Assoc. S. Semiv. In 2018 - the third prize place of Lyubov Nagrebna in the second round of the All-Ukrainian competition of student research papers (March 22, 2018) at the Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman. The work on the topic: "The impact of corruption on economic growth on the example of CEE countries" was performed under the guidance of Ph.D. Z. Makogin.

On April 25, 2018, an interuniversity English-language student conference was held on the topic: "The Society. The Obligations. The Privileges. / Society. Responsibilities. Privileges". Students Lisa Savitska, Svitlana Bilan, Anton Kabarovsky took part in the conference with scientific reports. The topics of the reports focused on such social phenomena as opportunities and rights, money and social behavior, success, consumer trends, moral aspects of life, and so on.
