Division Overview

The Division of Methodological Support and Accreditation is an independent structural unit of Lviv University of Trade and Economics  (the University), subordinate to the first Vice-Rector, which was created through restructuring to ensure the implementation of the state policy on monitoring the quality of education, licensing and accreditation.

In its work, the department is guided by the Constitution of Ukraine, current legislation, the Laws of Ukraine "On Education", "On Higher Education", "On the Principles of State Language Policy", orders and guidance letters of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the National Agency for Quality Assurance of Higher Education, orders and decrees of the Rector of the University, the Charter of the University, the Rules of Internal Labor Procedure, “Regulations on the Department for Monitoring the Quality of Education and Accreditation of the LTEU"," Regulations on the quality assurance system of higher education at LTEU"and other normative acts.

Division Main Tasks

  • сoordination and control of the educational and methodical activity and of the Institute, Faculties and Departments of the University;
  • аccounting and coordination of the process concerning improving programs and documents regulating the educational process;
  • мonitoring and evaluation of the activity of the Institute, faculties, and departments on the implementation of the new teaching methods, technical means etc in educational process;
  • facilitating the modernization and flexibility of educational activities through feedback (in the form of surveys) with the main participants (students, teachers) of the educational process;
  • carrying out monitoring activities at the University on compliance with the Licensing conditions for the provision of higher education education services and compliance with the current requirements for accreditation of educational programs, involving the staff of the Institute, faculties, departments and other structural units of the University;
  • providing methodological assistance to the structural units of the University, responsible persons from the institute, faculties and departments who prepare the materials of the licensing or accreditation business; providing them with the necessary regulatory legal university-wide documentation;
  • developing and coordinating with other structural units of the University plans, synergies for monitoring, licensing and accreditation;
  • development of current and prospective plans for licensing, accreditation and quality of the educational process;
  • periodic updating of the catalog of the legal documentation base on licensing, accreditation and quality of higher education;
  • analysis of current normative documents on the quality of educational activity and quality of higher education;
  • analysis of current regulations on licensing and accreditation of educational programs;
  • analysis of educational and methodological support of the educational process;
  • monitoring the quality of educational and methodological support of the educational process;
  • interviewing employers about the quality of training for University graduates;
  • аlumni survey on educational program quality;
  • conducting surveys (surveys) of scientific and pedagogical staff on the quality of educational activities;
  • conducting surveys (surveys, evaluations) of higher education applicants on the quality of educational activities, etc.

Licensing and accreditation

During 2016-2019, 10 specialties (training areas) and 18 educational programs were accredited at the University and 15 specialties were licensed.

Activities of the scientific and methodical council of the university

Within the Scientific and Methodological Council of the University are experienced professors, heads of departments - authors of many scientific and methodological works that consider at their meetings (on average 5-6 per academic year) various issues that contribute to improving the quality of scientific and methodological support of the educational process. NMR examines the textbooks, manuals presented at its meetings and recommends them to the Grif of Lviv Trade and Economic University, provides them with new regulations, recommendations of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, etc.

On October 11, 2019, an extended meeting of the Scientific and Methodological Council of LETU was held, which considered the specifics and requirements for accreditation of educational programs in accordance with the requirements of the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education. Open general university lessons, lessons

The department constantly organizes general university open lectures of the teaching staff, which contribute to improving the teaching and pedagogical skills of teachers, improving the ability of lecturers to find contact with students, encourage them to work, think, and even to disputes with the lecturer on some controversial issues. Practical training of students

The level of quality of training of specialists depends on their practical training at the University, which is an integral part of the educational and professional program of training of specialists and is aimed at consolidating the theoretical knowledge obtained by students during training and improvement of practical skills and skills in the relevant specialty
